A crowbar coined ‘The Sheriff’ measuring 82 inches long, 1.5 x 1.5 inches in width and weighing around 4 stone was used by the landlord’s agent and his men to destroy the roofs of the eviction houses. This crowbar had been left behind in Patrick McGonigle’s ruined dwelling in December 1881 and has since been passed down through the generations.
